    Fire Alarm and Warning Systems

    Fire alarm and warning systems are the general names of the systems that detect a possible fire situation at the beginning and being informed people about the issue with various warnings. Fire alarm and warning systems are the most important of all vulnerable current systems that should be used in a building.

    Fire alarm systems basically consist of the following components;

    -Detectors (optical smoke detectors, heat detectors, combined detectors, gas detectors, beam-type detectors, etc.)

    -Fire buttons allow people to activate the manual warning system in case the fire is seen with the eyes.

    -Sirens and flashers that warn people visually and audibly in case of an alarm.

    -I / O (input/output) modules used to interact with a different system in case of fire and to start or stop these systems.

    -Control panels that control and manage this entire system.

    Fire Alarms have to be produced in certain standards with good function because of effects on human life. It may be understood by the certificates that it has a fire alarm system is produced to the required standards. These certificates are tested and given by independent organizations and accredited laboratories. Turkey complied with EN54 Quality Standards written based on fire and warning systems used in Europe.

    Fire detection systems are produced in two different types in terms of operation and functionality.

    • Addressable fire alarm panels; They use an intelligent programming system that allow you to assign an “address” to each detector and device that has been installed on the system, especially for medium and large projects or sites . Unlike conventional systems that indicate the zone, addressable fire alarm panels identify the exact detector or device that has been activated, helping to save valuable time in the event of a fire or suspected false alarm. In this way, information about the instant status of all detectors in the system may be obtained. In terms of functionality, addressable fire alarm systems are much more flexible than conventional products and allow system design with different scenarios.
    • Conventional fire alarm systems; Although they do not have the opportunity to design as flexible as addressable systems, they are preferred especially in smaller buildings due to their affordable costs and easy installation and usage. The system warns not on detector basis, but on the basis of zone.

    The main difference between them is how the signals from connected devices communicate to the main control panel. The key to choosing the best one for your business is knowing the differences between the two and how those differences impact the lifetime cost of the system as well as the safety it provides. Our professional team will explain both types of systems and offer several factors that you should consider when choosing the best system for your business.
